UK’s new safari park lodges let you watch adorable red pandas from your room

Shawdesh desk:

New safari park lodges have opened in the UK where families can watch adorable red pandas right from their room.

West Midlands Safari Park has opened a brand new Red Panda exhibit, along with to luxury holiday cottages overlooking the enclosure.

There are two luxury cottages, both of which can sleep up to five people. They each feature an open plan living and dining area, complete with a huge window that looks out directly to the animals’ habitat.

There are also two bedrooms – one of which has a copper roll-top bath – and window seats so you can watch the animals from your room.

The park actually already offers lodges with views of elephants and cheetahs, which first opened their doors earlier this year and have since been selling out fast.

Currently, the safari park has just one red panda, a one-year-old named Mei Lin.

The attraction says it has plans to introduce a second, male panda to the enclosure in the future, although it didn’t specify a date.

The Red Panda Cottage stays start from £850 per night, which includes your stay, two days’ admission to the safari park, two-day wristbands for the Adventure Theme Park, as well as breakfast and dinner.

Bookings have already opened and places are filling up fast – you can find out more and book on safari-lodges.co.uk.

There will also be a new shop where you can pick up some Red Panda themed gifts and souvenirs.
Chris Kelly, Managing Director for the Park said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming red panda to our wildlife collection here at the Park, and to be able to offer the UK’s only overnight experience of its kind with this wonderful species!

“Our Red Panda Cottages mark the next step in expanding our accommodation offering here at West Midland Safari Park. We’re committed to upgrading our animal facilities here at the Park, and this accommodation will allow us to continue to do this, as well as providing our guests with an incredibly unique experience.”

Don’t be disheartened if your preferred dates are already sold out, or you can’t make the stays work for your holiday.

For a start, there are plenty more amazing safari lodges in the UK to discover, whether you’re after views of animals or want a quirky jungle themed room. Speaking of themed rooms, we’ve also rounded up some of the UK’s best themed hotels for kids ranging from CBeebies to wizards and Lego.
